Once you have created several palettes you may want to consider building a Master Palette. A Master Palette is used to contain all of your individual palettes for quick access.
Example:
Jane has several palettes she has created. One for word processing items, one for graphics item, one for a newsletter she creates, one has all of her games.
She has also created a Master Palette called "Home Base" on which she has placed her word processing palette file, graphics palette file, newsletter palette file, and games palette file. She has then moved her "Home Base" palette file into the System's "Startup Items" folder so it will appear on her desktop anytime her Mac is restarted. (See "Getting Started" for information on moving palette files)
With the "Home Base" palette open on her desktop she can quickly open her word processing palette by simply clicking on the tile that contains her word processing palette file.
Jane uses this method to easily open and close her palettes from one central location ( her "Home Base" palette). She also uses this method to jump from task to task without rummaging though the Finder's folders.
